4 Paws Says Good Bye to Carol Cain

From rescue and recovery to fostering and adoption, animal rescue volunteers reap tremendous privileges and joys.

While the animals provide the major source of our joy and inspiration, working with other committed animal rescue volunteers in the Lake Area is a significant by-product of our efforts.

Carol and Wanda at this 2nd Annual Coalition Garage SaleCarol Cain was one of those committed animal rescue volunteers. At the 4 Paws Society, we knew Carol very well. She was one of the original founders of the Hobo Hotel For Cats and was involved in the formation of the Calcasieu Animal Coalition.

Just prior to her death, I ran across a source she passed on to me in regard to a grant, a typical example of her willingness to share. Carol’s mantra, “We are all connected” serves as a major theme of the Hobo Hotel.

Her death delivers a loss to Lake area cats and kittens and the entire animal rescue community. Our condolences to her family, friends and fellow founders and volunteers at the Hobo Hotel, and to the cats and kittens she left behind.

We take comfort in knowing that she has rejoined her feline friends at the Rainbow Bridge. We can only imagine the joy she will experience in being reunited with the cats and kittens she so lovingly cared and grieved for during her service to the Hobo Hotel.
